One speech I listened to from Trump was about tariffs.
He spoke on the car industry. He says the loss is approx. 1.5 billion dollars per year to America with the dumb tariffs allowed by the previous governments.
for example , he said to put a chevy into China or Japan, they added a 25 % tarrif, that's why you don't see any American cars in Asia. But , he said, coming into America, the reverse is a 4 % Tarriff... he called this deal just dumb.
it will only take one signature to fix he said....' mine'.. he said it will turn a 1.5 billion dollar loss into a 150 million profit in one year... he questioned his audience ' anyone here don't want that to happen ? '

Its a pity a country like ours , with all our abundant rescources wasn't run the same.

We could have the cheapest power in the world.. nuclear and safe..built away from population , powering homes and business's at a tenth of the cost for ever.. just with that one change, imagine the extra money in the economy and the flow on..
hold our rescources up a little bit, don't export as much coal and gas, and make them pay more for it ..
do less work for the same turnover in $..
so many things this country has going for it .. but too many do too little ..

Totally agree with your post.

Most of the hand wringers in Australia either don't know or "don't want to" know that cheap energy and cheap food has allowed Australians over the decades to have more disposable income, which in turn has allowed other pursuits and endeavors.

With out cheap food and energy poverty is a sure thing.

The Enemy within this Nation is the Lefty that only knows ENVY and nothing else.
