    So, do you refuse to use a checkout where the e/ee uses a scanner, preferring only those where they type the prices in for each item? A lot of staff were lost when they didn't need to stick prices on each article, and it took longer to check out. Or are you still going down to the corner store and buying biscuits by the quarter pound and cheese being cut by the wire? And how long have you been waiting for the milk cart to come round?

    I know what you mean, but it is only another step after many that have already made shopping much cheaper than it was 50 years ago. All at the expense of employees, to be sure.

    The stores will be monitoring shrinkage (shoplifting) just as closely as they always have.
