good post IMO.
One thing I didn't touch on in my post was about torches.
After things like security lighting and the like -
I find a torch ------------------ THESE days - to be almost a weapon in itself (a defensive thing I mean) - as well as a very reassuring piece of kit -
but, it has to be quality - and, they don't come cheap.
A modern LED torch can burn the eyes out of a pig a kilometer away (ok - joke).
But, - if you shine a modern tactical torch into someone's face - there is no way they can see - and, you can see very very very well -
this is a huge advantage - if someone can't see you - they don't know what you are doing, they don't know what you are carrying - and, they don't know what is coming in their direction at great speed.
Above all of that - is that a really bright directional light source in your hands on the blackest of nights - is very reassuring - you can see pretty much like day.
I don't know what brand and model that samcro is talking about - but, I have a couple of torches - and my first go to for intrusion (don't have humans, but often have animals and things to check out at night) -
is an 'Olight' tactical which I have now had for years - it has been an amazing device (I use it with 2X 123 batteries)
I am in the market for some new tech. now - I have seen a new model (which I can't find atm- which is about 1200 lm. and says it throws 1000m - and, has a batt. % indicator (which I like) - it's pretty expensive - about $450) -
If I can find it again and the research goes all well - I might get it - otherwise I would be looking for something like this below
Others perhaps -

A light like this and a can of 'oven cleaner' (with a slightly enlarged spray hole) as suggested by samcro - would put you in a very strong position.
Hopefully the torch would do all the work for you anyway. Bad people don't like bright light IMO.
hope you are ok today Taurisk
