Kingpins both your posts are invaluable - thankyou so much. Something to sort out over the next few weeks, can't do it all at once - today I also realised they did a little bit more damage than I thought -there was definitely a male involved. They tried to come in by a large glass door to my dining/living area which is protected by a pair of decorative metal gates. They damaged the plaster work around the lower sections of the metal gates, but couldn't open the padlock which holds the two doors together, as that has a pin number, but managed to flatten the metal bits on the door, into which the lock fits - so the damage is mounting for a measly $100 plus the hope of using the credit cards, which I cancelled within half an hour of their leaving. Idiots!
