Production shortfalls like VRE had are catastrophic any time you hear of a shortfall against target of 6/10 it questions the viability of the mine assumptions that made it a feasible mine.
It also robs them of the cash flow to support their ongoing operation. Both Croseus and BDG did the same thing , all of a sudden found their costs were higher than their production return.
