My local council has decided to change the way it's residence making applications for burning off now have to apply for a fire service officers to come and inspect your property to ensure you have an adequate water supply, your not burning anything your not supposed to etc etc. Once upon a time all you had to do was make a call and they'd shoot a permit to you. On the day you chose to burn you phoned the CFA and registered you burn so they knew who was in the area. all too hard these day's.
