America's top law man Attorney General Ashcroft has announced that he has evidence to the effect that there might be a plot to commit a large scale act of terrorism on the US soil in near future. This 'sensational' disclosure by the US Attorney General has been made at a time when the political fortune of the US President happen to be at their lowest ebb, and continue to be sinking deeper.
This 'timing' on the part of the US Law Chief has set off a widespread exercise in speculation regarding the 'melafide intentions' behind the warning. What is being speculated is whether 'a potential terrorist threat' can halt Bush's political decline, and can arrest his
'downward slide' in the opinion polls. Consequently it is also being speculated whether the said disclosure is 'calculatedly' designed to rescue the 'Iraq-devastated' president from a looming political doom. Meaning thereby that if the 'terrorist threat' as predicted and perceived by the US Attorney General, a key man in Bush's team does materialize, it would have come as a blessing to Bush. If you are a believer in 'deductive logic', you can safely conclude that Bush is in desperate need of ' a catastrophe' at the scale of nine-eleven ----- to boost up his re-election chances. Whether or not the 'gods' provide him such 'a booster' in league with the forces that were behind the 9/11 events, will not be known till October 2004. If the said gods and forces are sincerely keen to help Bush out of his predicament, the best timing for 'the dreaded threat to materialize' would be 'weeks', not 'months' before the polling day. The clouds of shock and confusion do not take long to disappear. If Bush is to win, the voters just need to be in a state of shocked petrifaction. All that is required in this context is that Bush's Administration 'must' ensure 'the failure of security' at the same scale as on 9/11.
