The difference between those supporting the Telstra board and those wanting more proactive management is that the supporters of the Telstra board also support labours attitude to running a business. This attitude excludes the need to assess long term profitability and sustainability and the need to grow the business
Their attitude is to guess what will appeal to the voters and their supporters throw public money in that direction, ensure that the NBN has a monopoly, bury all that is too difficult to do and pay for the necessary spin.
Now that the NBN has been agreed to, the government and the Telstra board need a rest to recover from their exertions.
