Unilife looks to bolster its manufacturing team. The Company posted descriptions of ten different jobs available at its York, Pennsylvania plant recently. We believe the following provide a view of the Company's plans for immediate future:We are maintaining our BUY recommendation, as the recently posted employment opportunities at Unilife indicate that commercial production can’t be far off. Our financial model will be revised as commercial progress becomes visible.
- Skilled Machine Operators: Trade school graduates are needed for 12-hour shifts five days per week (Monday – Friday). Several openings are available.
- Operations Engineer: This person will drive data-to-day operations, including purchasing, receiving, inventory and warehouse management, production, quality control, and operations expansion. An ability to drive a team of cross-functional associates is required. Prior experience is preferred, along with a B.S. degree in one of several types of engineering.
- Manufacturing Engineering Manager: The Company is seeking a person with experience (7 years or more) in manufacturing engineering in the medical device industry with automated assembly/production systems to transfer prototypes to full-scale commercial production. Important capabilities include optimizing manufacturing efficiency, developing control systems to aid financial planning, creating production plans and forecasting capacity needs.
- Quality Engineering Leader: A QC expert is needed to develop plans and related documents for new medical devices in compliance with FDA regulations, as well as inspection and training programs. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in an engineering discipline, five years of experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry, knowledge of medical device regulations, and experience in performing risk analyses.
- SAP Specialist: A computer science or software engineer with at least 5 years of SAP ERP experience in an FDA regulated manufacturing environment will work closely with multiple business units to develop long-range business application strategies and balance the needs of the business departments and the return on the corporate investment. The Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, FDA/health authority regulations, laws, and industry best practices.
