you raise an interesting point and a very big deterant for potential franchisees. you don't actually know how much of what you pay goes to the franchisor via over inflated prices and supplier kick backs.

given I have personally helped family and friends build food and beverage based franchises I have some idea of what it costs

may I suggest you contact RFG and find out how much a new store will cost? it's not just the fit out of a space but plant and equipment and stock. everything just costs a lot more than what you think.

I'm remember thinking I could build a 4 bedroom house for less than the cost of a 80sqm coffee club. if these franchises were so cheap to build then more people would be doing them and the return on capital would be very impressive.
