The recently-appointed chairman of technology firm TZ, Paul Casey, has resigned following an internal stoush with the "Patrick Chew group" of shareholders and their nominees to the board, the company has said in a letter to the ASX requesting a trading halt. Those nominees include none other than Wizard Home Loans founder Mark Bouris, who is also supported by another group of shareholders led by Dutch management consultant Klaas Pool. The Pool/Chew insurgency has provided fascinating reading for shareholders and observers alike with all sorts of claims being made in company announcements. No wonder, this is the firm that says it will provide "unimagined mastery of time and space" through its neat technology that moves office partitions around automatically. Well, no matter what you might think of that, Bouris is apparently impressed, and after all, having sold Wizard to GE Money – an arm of the group started by legendary inventor Thomas Edison – he should know a thing or two about technology. Casey was appointed just last week after Andrew Sigalla, who'd been in the role for a year, stepped down. Casey used to be president and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines and is a partner in Sennet Capital, an investment bank located in the Aloha state. Aloha also means goodbye.
