Follow up to my email to Bob Brown
Got a reply from Senator Milne's office, not sure it means a great deal but it is putting the technology in front of them.
Dear xxxxx
Your message to Senator Brown was passed on to Senator Christine Milne’s office as she is the Greens’ spokesperson on climate change and energy. Thank you for writing.
You are probably aware that the Greens have for a long time pushed for support of emerging clean energy generating technology. Recently Christine has been pushing for a national gross feed-in tariff which would guarantee a set price for a set period of time for all renewable energy generated. In countries like Germany similar legislation have attracted large investment to the renewables sector. The tariff would allow for prices to be set for different generation methods.
While the Greens do not consider natural gas to be a renewable fuel, we understand that this resource produces significantly less emissions then our current major energy sources. We see natural gas as an important transition fuel in the move towards a zero emissions economy.
Unfortunately neither the Rudd Government nor the coalition are taking steps to support low emissions technologies. You can be assured however that Christine and the other Greens Senators will continue to push on this. To stay in touch with their efforts I invite you to visit www.greensmps.org.au.
Thank you again for writing, I will ensure that Senator Milne is made aware of this technology.
Regards,
