I believe Chris Scott could be affected personally by an unfavourable outcome. Perhaps not financially.
It depends if CVC is responsible for defending the case or just paying any damages.
The litigation exposure has not changed but the dynamics of the fight might.
Then if Octaviar was negotiating something with CVC it could be of interest to someone in Chris Scotts position to be generous to CVC. IMHO.
