If the US company LaSalle Investments are the purchasers of the US assets and are rumoured to be the buyers of CAWF, why would they want to spend close to $1.2bn on 4 properties when they can buy the entire company for around 1/2 to 3/4 of that amount and just offload the bits they don't want?
It wouldn't surprise me if the papers were on the right track, but have missed a part of the puzzle.
