Why does it show separate values for new wind and new solar from installed wind and solar ?
Looking at the charts below it is pretty easy to see how storage could offset power imports into SA . Whether that is practical is another thing of course.
I'd be really interested to know whether there is a true data set available of curtailment and see that in a chart.
It is interesting to see on the yearly chart how much of SA's power comes from wind. If you look at a yearly chart of other states it tells a vastly different story.
There's a lot to be done before renewables can make a significant impact.
