Once the fighting starts the discussions over whether they should be there will quell for a short period and Bush/Blair/Hoaward will need to rely on the battle being swift and decisive.
If they can achieve that with minimum US et al personnel losses and quickly then the sting will diappear as everyone settles in to watch the action on CNN.
Mind you, if it turns into messy street fighting with huge civilian death toll.....mind you 30,000 odd Iraqi soldiers and civilians apparently died in the last effort and we never heard much about that did we?
