    Just trying to point out the ludicrousness of this tax deduction.

    If I wanted a Bengal Tiger on the back of my ute to 'guard my tools' could I bill the government for that and $100k in yearly meat costs?

    Why not specify that tools have to be under lock and key in a ute mounted lock box. That is covered and it not an open-ended yearly huge expense for the taxpayers for such a tiny benefit.

    A $1000 a year food and vet cost rort for the tradies to protect a couple of Chinese made $19.99 cordless tools?
