The hard blow will be realising that industry is based on gas and coal deposits. Many jobs will go overseas from energy poor countries, the USA has already shifted from manufacturing to service industries which need little power. Australia should do very well being energy rich, technology clever and more food than we can eat.Indonesia will also do well, as they have the same mix and rapidly gaining in education. The older nations will have a battle protecting their service industries...patents etc....hence the chasing of software pirates..don't hold your breath for patent approval in the USA either.
