When I first started trading, I used to pay a great deal of attention to buy:sell volumes. I still do, however, I'm more aware of the tricks that some are playing. When I see that the sell side is heavily stacked and the price is static or even rising, I know that someone is trying to accumulate. I don't really see this activity as market manipulation because I doubt that too many people actually fall for this behaviour.
