I actually meant to say that you need eduction on technical analysis, which is the reading of charts, but it would also be good to have an idea of fundamental analysis which looks at earnings per share, debt to equity ratio, earnings growth ratio and so on. Although when you are trading very low priced shares fundamentals are just future possiblities as often no earnings exist yet. This makes being able to read a chart, which is basically a description of market action/sentiment, really important.
