Sounds good $2000 for $5000 as you describe your position. Our circumstances are similar but share holding a bit different. But i would be thinking the following possibility. My wife has 200 shares and sells into the buyback at $21.50 and receives proceeds of $4300 paid on the 10th of April .If on or around this time the shares have risen to say $28.50 this buys her 150 BHP shares and down 50 shares. With franking credits of around $8.31 a share she receives a refund of $1662 in October.Shares by then have risen to say $35.To retain her position (original 200) she buys 50 shares costing $1750 (down $100)and wondering if it was all worth the trouble . (hypothetical only) and much more to it .Regards Helmet.
