Covid has given us time to consider what is of value to us particuluarly when it comes to buying local/shopping local.
I was ccnfronted with this situation today because over the weekend the battery in my laptop carked and I damaged the filter in my ducted air conditioner while cleaning it.
So I dropped into my local suppliers. First of all my local laptop doctor: 1x battery(made in China) $132 + fitting Online a similar battery (made in China) $59 including shipping
Then I visited my local airconditing specialist -$55 for a sq M filter material -Online $12 sq M free postage.
So what am I willing to pay to shop local?
Surely small businesses have to fair market value their stock vs that available online and perhaps add a convenience premium if they want to stay in business.
