"So I dropped into my local suppliers. First of all my local laptop doctor:
1x battery(made in China) $132 + fitting
Online a similar battery (made in China) $59 including shipping
Then I visited my local airconditing specialist
-$55 for a sq M filter material
-Online $12 sq M free postage.
So what am I willing to pay to shop local?"
So, if we shop local ---------------- we pay about 3 to 5 times more for 'stuff'
but, what are the benefits to us ----------- well, not much
the local shop keeper benefits - because HE buys the cheap stuff from China - marks it up a few hundred percent - then, he's got some money
we get a benefit from the local shopkeeper having that money to put back into our eonomy
so - since whichever way we go ------- we buy the same cheap stuff from china
how about ------- pay the shopkeeper to NOT go into business - make all sales on line
that way - we get cheap stuff from China AND the shopkeeper has money - which he can put back into the economy directly
win win
