STOsh IMO need to get through a round of rolling over debt and hedging policy ( if any) before the are seen to pay too much out IMO. Pay out low to middle - enough to keep confidence
Sell down Alaska or play with the big boys while prices are high and rates to borrow low- money is actually avaliable now but with woke world it can dry up. ? Were are they going to get that diversification and leverage Alaska provides from buying something elsewhere ? Literally STO got Alaska as a bonus in takeover- they haven't paid a cent for it. . That is why there are buyers lining up now it is partially derisked. I am not sure any aussie listed company will ever get exposure to an asset like Alaska again in my lifetime in USA region where it can be financed today. .
Add 4 to the list . Later a Capital return to holders - plays havoc with shorters and players , tax effective- shareholders love it.
PS Hope all longtermers had a great Chrissy and New year and upcoming Chinese new year.
