I dislike buybacks as much as they put a floor under for a certain volume it advantages sophisticated traders and that puts a cap on it as well in so many cases. In my experience it ends up being a pip by pip battle and often news that should cause a rise and some excitement is diminished usually after a quick ris eto fairish value.

I agree there is no better use of capital for IRR but the execution and how a buyback hangs over the market is not ideal.
