If you insight is correct April new car sales will be catastrophic. Personally I doubt it is 10% but 50% wouldn't surprise I guess.

VFACTS sales in April 2019 were 75,550, down from 82,930 in April of 2018. April 2019 was the lowest April sales result since 2011 (74,214).

There's a touch of bad luck here, APE weren't to know about CV when they threw the gold plated tapware at AHG but there's also a fair bit of hubris. The money they threw at AHG to mop up was crazy IMO. But of course after a protracted CF, you'll do almost anything to get it out of the way.

Before a CR I reckon the motor industry will look to the Govt to bail them out.

After 2 years of record low sales, if it wasn't for the government's generosity to SB owners who have been buying 4x4 utes their ears pinned back, the figures would be way way worse.
