It's worth reading the whole article on the link, not just your summary.
Notice though that MBT gets a glowing recommendation and yet the ligno cellulosic ethanol is not even considered.
This ethanol leg of the business promises to be almost as profitable as the rest of the show, and can be on line within a couple of years.
MBT's ligno cellulosic process looks like being a significant advance on current processing methods and with MBT having the IP secured, there may even be a very lucrative future in royalties from future licencing agreements.
This process will allow the ethanol plant, to take feedstock, ie plant waste from virtually any source ( straw, leaves, twigs, rice husks etc etc) and therefore can be profitable, independently of the biodiesel business.
The diversity provided by the ethanol future puts MBT on a much more secure foundation.
I can see why Flaherty made MBT his October pick.
