The 21st century pandemic is going to be manageable and this first step is an early example. The drugs will improve, the premium will fall, especially as governments and insurers make it accessible cheaply because surely they understand the value of healthier communities.
A future world with vastly less people consuming unhealthy food/drink, having a longer 'healthspan' is inevitable. This will fundamentally change many many businesses, its horse and cart v MV type change coming. My sense is focus less on the impact on say RMD or others, think about a world with healthier consumers who will have very different lifestyle and therefore spending habits. Exciting, and more positive times ahead. After all who want to see people suffering physical and mental health problems simply due to being overweight.
