Data from China on Saturday showed a faster-than-expected rise in industrial output in August and inflation at a 22-month high mainly as a result of food prices.
The data suggested that Chinese domestic demand was strong despite curbs on bank lending and government moves to cool the property market.
CommSec chief economist Craig James said the monthly figures from China showed that the Chinese economy was strong and may need higher interest rates to slow it down.
"The futures market I don't think really prices in the degree of strength that is going to come through (on the Australian share market on Monday)," Mr James said.
All bodes well on the Monday opening for CUE
I am hoping for the stock hitting 40 cents before the end of the week
