"Following three years of research and development, the company
released its first Stayzon™ Skin product last month, coinciding with
the outbreak of Australia’s largest flu epidemic.
“Projected sales have tripled as consumers seek a more advanced
protection system to combat Australia’s current flu epidemic,” said
Mr Plastow."
“We are in preliminary discussions with airlines and aviation
representatives in Australasia regarding antimicrobial solutions to
providing vastly greater protection for passengers and airline crew.
“There is genuine concern to increase vigilance, in an era in
which airlines and air travellers have witnessed the emergence,
cross-‐border spread and worldwide impact of SARS, Avian Flu,
H1N1, Ebola and the continuing prevalence of other serious
diseases such as Zika Virus and Novovirus and strains of Influenza,”
he said.
“It is now possible to coat aircraft cabin surfaces with an
antimicrobial shield, applied as an atomised coating to the empty
aircraft cabin, including air conditioning ducts and filters.
“The application process takes approximately 45 minutes for a large
jet aircraft and is re-‐applied on a 45-‐day cycle,” he added.
