lots of companies do small Phase 2 trials. I would prefer a company fail with 20 people in a Phase trial that was cheap and fast than do a Phase 3 size trial and it fails at Phase 2.
i dont think the company would have made it past 2024 if it was planning a P2 trial with hundreds of people tbh.
In one of the presentations I believe the MD stated that the FDA has communicated they would want a field trial or something to that effect - so am expecting that P3 will be larger and obviously not US only.
