MQG is not a heavily shorted stock at the moment, only 7.5% gross short yesterday and one of the lowest rate on the market. No doubt people are playing of the negative sentiment generated by the announcement, but I think today the rise in the AUD is having a bigger impact because about 50% of their earnings comes from overseas. Their full year result announcement of April 29 will give us a much better idea about future prospects.
