As a man of self-patronising knowledge....tell me, who did know 99.99% sure the world wasn't flat when they first started sailing east....skippers got their jobs back then because they were good sailers who knew who to navigate uncharted waters... Smart people at VRC think Matthews is the man to skipper VRC to the 'new graphite world' .... can see the the headlines now..."Matthew Columbus....."...common mate ...name someone without a top graphite job who you think is better and why....they probably made it to interview for this job... IMO
