I don't think there is much of a risk to the serious shorters. Reason: they are long and short, plenty of holding stock to provide supply to close out short. In fact, I think if we could access all trading records for the past four months we would see net trades to be far less than volume indicates (net being holding company subsidiary offset against same company shorting).
Interesting comment about Quindell shareholders, if that underlying support is indeed there it will be a far greater driver of SP rise that a short squeeze, I feel.
