All time highs are a good reason to buy.

Also I didn’t call people idiots for timing markets, I called them idiots for having no stake at all in great long term companies because they’re trying to time the market to perfection in order to start their investment at the bottom of either the market, or the low of that particular stock.

I maintain people not being in a great stock at all due to those perceptions that either the market, or the individual stock, is too pricey, are idiots. As believing we’re smart enough to do that is both arrogant, but far more importantly stupid, and leads to far less wealth long term than sensible investors that have a stake in excellent stocks at all times, but merely build cash when values or markets are high to top up when opportunities appear.

But that is a mutually exclusive topic to at least taking some position in a great stock if you don’t already own it.

I did suggest you do take some “timing” into effect simply by buying half your intended investment so that you’re protected no matter what happens, putting the other half in at some significantly higher or lower price. Did you miss that point?

Does that all make sense?

It seemed to to Norah who took a position, and will be really happy with that decision no matter the short term gyrations or definition on whether markets or this stock are too toppy or not.

Afterpay does not care if markets are currently toppy, they’ll just exponentially increase yoy revenue for years and it’s SP will consistently follow it.

it is the same kind of people that only buy stocks that are at their 52 week low totally disregarding the reasons why they are there.
