Buyback & Cancel some of this funding dilution whilst the shareprice is low is No #`1 for the long-term benefit of shareholders.
All what you say is great for the resume, but if they keep 1 billion shares on issue then the upside benefit for shareholders is reduced..
It's a juggling act for sure, but to buyback cheap, Cancelling shares forever during this time & progress your things at the same time and the long-term benefit is great for shareholders instead of all the achievement's just looking good on Managements resume.
Shareholders don't care about Matt making a name for himself, they care about low shares on issue so the future dividends are MUCH higher.
