Declaring a dividend at this point would be a massive opportunity cost. A share buyback capped at a max price of 50c a share would generate great returns for shareholders, both by driving up the share price and generating earnings accretion. Unless there are grave concerns about delivering the forecast tonnage from the main pit over the next few years, now is the time to do a buyback, not in 2 or 3 years time.
