BUY BHP
As of monday all the institutions in particular will know how many BHP shares they "sold" to the buyback The instos will buy them back to rebuild their holdings
For mum and dad investors they`ll usually wait until the money arrives on April 2 before buying back BHP to rebuild their holdings
In other words the BHP price should theoretically have a few good days as the money from the buyback (3.25 billion) is put back into the stock
A reminder that the capital component is $2.50 and the rest is a fully franked dividend
BHP will be awash with cash and in our opinion is cheap as it is trading at nine times earnings for this year and next
our 12 month price target for BHP is $31
