To be fair, in its latest releases the company has been downplaying the importance of the 31st Jan as a deadline and focused on the process:

From the Chairman's adress: We hope to be able to update the market on progress in the near future, and asalready announced, it is hoped to have a signed agreement before 31st January,2022.

From the Lease approval release: Kingsgate acknowledges the cooperation and goodwill shown by the Thai Government via the issuance of these key licences, and the re-opening of an enhanced Chatree Gold Mine will provide high value growth opportunities for the Company, local communities, businesses, and the Thai economy. While some additional items are still under negotiation, the priority remains the re-opening of the mine. (note no mention of 31st Jan at all in the release)

I'm fine with this approach, but indeed cash is an issue so we probably need more sense of urgency here
