most of apex's resource is currently refractory ore, i couldn't see a takeover by AVO or Northgate on that factor alone, AVO wanted to add ounces to their resource but as far as i know they can't process refractory ore??? (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

From what i understand managements aim is to make Apex into an AVO and become an aquirer of sorts. Its just taking longer than forecast.
