The way I read it was that everybody got too excited about what the next set of drill results were going to be and therefore had unreal expectations. For example, you had all the talk on this forum about 70m of visible gold and what that was going to translate into in drill results.
The 'pump and dump' you mention would only work in the context of the above unreal expectations.
AS for Londoner he did get it wrong - by a day and forewent 30% further profit. Lets face it we all get it wrong, it is just a matter of by how much - because NOBODY buys at the absolute bottom and sells at the absolute top.
Incidentally, I wonder if anybody has any insight into the goings on at DRD Gold in South Africa. I have been told there was a rather sad ending to DRDs ambitions. I hate sad endings and always like to be prepared for such an outcome.
