Just teach your kids to NOT be afraid to work hard for their money.
I guarantee you..................the harder it is for them to earn their money, the harder it will be to part with.

For me, shares are just a little hobby I have. It's not too hard to make stupid decisions in this game because when you make money it's easy money with out ANY work.

HOWEVER.................in my business, that I have been running for over 20 years now, with REAL old fashioned hard work, I'm quite tough with the spending.

As for the argument whether it's better to rent or better to buy a house.......well...........if your kids are looking for a place to rent oh,boy, just give me a yell. I'll put them on to my 3 kids that are looking for new tenants in their houses. You see..............the old tenants couldn't afford the rent & are now looking for a one bedroom flat to share.
