I fail to see how debt to GDP can explain the high Australian house prices especially, when the biggest percentage of the house price falls occurred before the introduction QE and raising of the debt ceilings.
Also, the slightly higher equivalised disposable household income in Australia (according to your figures) hardly compensates for the exorbitant house and rent prices.
