re: buyers -this stock moves in mysterious ways... I share your cynicism to a degree, Hilldweller. It's not as if these surges have never happened before. The buy depth has persisted thus far this morning but we'll see whether it evaporates at the close.

It seems that only settlement of the Applera dispute will dispel the cloud hanging over the stock and get the SP running again. I had thought that the capitulation of the other two patent disputers would have nudged Applera towards settlement but - as a former PM was wont to observe - they are proving "recalcitrant".

News of license revenue wouldn't go amiss either....

I'm holding for now.
