Do you have something to trade ?
If no trade maybe walk around a few lots, leave the credit card at home (literally) do a few test drives , and get the dealers to call you back with a quote , just tell them you will make a deal within a week as they are probably not interested in tire kickers .
Next SUV I get will probably be a rav4 hybrid trail , its a little higher for going through snow and on rough roads , but Toyota do not negotiate supposedly .
Spoke to a Peugeot dealer mate today who said it is the slowest they have been since the GFC , has new vehicles on the lot for over a year and has had to do mandated yearly services on them changing oil that has only done 400kms , they are hurting so should be able to make some good deals !
