    Really if they had the money to pay when it was due why not pay... who sits with $20K in bank accounts and doesnt pay , knowing that the bank charges anything up to 19% on the debt yet you earn 3% on the money.

    If he cannot read how can he run a business issue invoices and his wife gets disability so I presume she cannot help him in the business. Something just seems off here. I am not condoning the legal process - I think that banks and legal firms charge so much that only those on legal aid or the very wealthy can afford them. However I also just dont understand what the firm that buys the debt can do as well. would love the ATO / fairtrade to look into this because it just does not make sense...
