@chad987, CSL is a share and one thing you can depend on a share doing..... is fluctuate !
CSL will go up and down for a variety of reasons. Some rational and some entirely due to either an individual investor analysis, need or sentiment or a less rational collective herd mentality of FOMO. The reasons for buying or selling may be anchored in fact or fiction and that is where the accuracy of the information made available is so important for analysis.
CSL is a well managed company, that has a relatively high PE, that will continue to grow and whose results tend to surprise on the upside.
I think that you will find most investors in this folder are buyers and holders, far be it for me to suggest that you should do one thing or another. My wife holds the majority of her portfolio in CSL, I too bought some in my name at approx $155.00, little thinking that I would look back and consider the purchase “cheap”.
I guess what you need to do is to look at the highs of CSL (and the recent lows), consider your financial position and how long you intend to invest for, look at your financial position, look at what you would buy if not CSL, look at whether you are after income or capital gain etc etc etc... in fact everything that a financial advisor would ask you, when considering a financial plan for you. Only you knows the answer to all those questions, and I guess it is only you that can make that decision. However, over the medium to longer term, I would suggest that with the quality of the company and its management, that CSL as a long term holding will reward you admirably, despite what may be considered short term volatility. DYOR.
Sentiment should read... Hold.
