Thanks for the feedback, it has helped inform me a lot... I considered that buying shares long before the ex-dividend date is a prime time to buy them, if you were going to buy into that company anyway. I was just wondering if there was some crafty work arounds that only the very big fat cats enjoy the benefits of...mostly as they have millions compared to my paltry $10K... and I think we all know the stock market has nothing to do with buying shares in solid companies as a means of investing in one's future...
