Also stay away from the idea that a virus can in any meaninful way be good for people needing finance options. That's a perfect example of confirmation bias heuristic. The damage that high unemployment would do to people's disposable income on an aggregate level would by far outweigh the benefit of having a BNPL option. For example, I'm your average Joe with a decent paying job who would probably use afterpay 10 times a year but if I'm worried about my job or even worse if I lost my job I'd use it much less and/or my basket sizes and conversion would significantly reduce.

Just something to be mindful of. A booming economy is much better for the BNPL sector, hence the market reaction.
