The previous trail results show that it does work and that the progression free survival should show a median difference between Px + Carboplatin and placebo + Carboplatin of about 3 months. Many other approved treatements show much less.

Confidence is being sapped by not reaching the required number of patients and halting the study early. If they had finished the trail I would be feeling much better.

I am not sure how much it may have messed things up with regard to FDA approval. It has been set back at least a few years. They did try and get as many patients as possible, but at the current rate of recruitment it would have taken another 3 years or more. Maybe they should have undertaken the Phase III on advanced prostate cancer.
